Manchester United midfielder Anderson is reportedly set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Anderson has failed to make the impact that many expected following his £17 million transfer from Porto in 2007.

The Brazilian has struggled for form and fitness due to a string of injuries during his time at Old Trafford and could return to Portugal in the summer, according to the Mirror.

The 24-year-old, who was last capped in 2008, previously revealed that he has attempted to leave the club a number of times, having failed to secure regular football under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Anderson has two goals and five assists to his name from 21 appearances in all competitions this season, but remains behind the likes of Tom Cleverley, Michael Carrick and Ryan Giggs in the United pecking order.

Other players who could leave Old Trafford in the summer are Paul Scholes, who may retire again, while Javier Hernandez and Nani could also be sold, with the latter’s contract set to expire in 2014.
