Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has challenged Rafael to double his current tally of three goals before the season is out.

The Brazilian right-back won the club’s February goal of the month award for his superb 25-yard volley against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

The United boss has now challenged Rafael to score more goals for the Old Trafford outfit before the end of the season.

"I have told him if he manages six by the end of the season, I'll give him £50 for a new haircut!" Ferguson wrote in United Review.

The 22-year-old, who also won this accolade back in September for his belter at Liverpool, has became a permanent presence in the United starting line-up this season.

Rafael has started 21 Premier League, six Champions League and four cup games so far this term.
